Where You'll Stay on Our 14-Day New Zealand Tour
Updated: Sep 29
Where you stay shapes your whole trip. On the 14-day North and South Island Discovery Tour, every stop is chosen to put you close to the sights, with time to rest between big days. Here's where you'll sleep, and why.
Auckland: M Social on the waterfront
Night 1 is at M Social on Quay Street, right on the Auckland waterfront. You get a private airport transfer, then a free evening to walk the harbour or visit the Sky Tower.
Rotorua: a central hotel
After the Hobbiton Movie Set tour you check in to a central Rotorua hotel. It keeps you close to the Polynesian Spa for an optional evening soak.
Wellington: 2 nights in the capital
Two nights at the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor give you a full day to explore Te Papa museum, Wētā Workshop, Parliament and the Mount Victoria lookout.
Blenheim: a luxury lodge in wine country
Two nights at a luxury lodge with a spa, steam room and pool. You come back here after a private VIP wine tasting at Wither Hills and a wildlife cruise on the Marlborough Sounds.
Christchurch and Lake Tekapo
A central Christchurch hotel puts you near the Riverside Market. The next night you stay at Lake Tekapo, part of a dark sky reserve, with an optional stargazing tour or a soak at Tekapo Springs.
Queenstown: 4 nights by the lake
Queenstown is your base for Milford Sound, Arrowtown, Wanaka and Glenorchy, plus a free day for the Skyline Gondola, Shotover Jet, bungy or a Gibbston Valley wine tour.
Can I change the hotels?
Yes. Hotel choice is one of the main things we adjust in your consultation, along with dates and group size.
