Booking and Consultation

How do I book a tour?

Pick a tour on the Travel and Tours page and book a free 30-minute consultation. We talk about your dates, group size and budget. I then send you a quote. Your booking is confirmed once you pay the deposit.

Can I change the itinerary?

Yes. Every tour can be tailored. You can add or remove days, change hotels or swap activities.

Do you run tours for small groups and families?

Yes. Tours run as private trips or small groups. Tell me your group size in the consultation.

Payment

How much deposit do I need to pay?

A 50% deposit confirms your booking. The balance is due 30 days before departure.

Why don't you show prices on the website?

Prices depend on your travel dates, group size, flights and hotel choice. I build a quote for you after the consultation, so you only pay for what you need.

What currency do you charge in?

Quotes are in US dollars (USD), with an estimated amount in New Zealand dollars (NZD).

Cancellations and Changes

What happens if I cancel?

Cancel 60 days or more before departure and you lose the deposit. Cancel 30 to 59 days before and 50% of the total tour price is charged. Cancel less than 30 days before and 100% is charged. Flights and hotels follow each supplier's own rules. See the Terms and Conditions for full details.

Can I change my travel dates?

Yes, subject to availability. Supplier change fees may apply.

Visas and Travel Documents

Do I need a visa to visit New Zealand?

It depends on your passport. Citizens of visa waiver countries, such as the United States, the United Kingdom and most of Europe, need a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) before they fly. Citizens of other countries, such as India and China, need a visitor visa. Australian citizens need neither. Check your passport on the Immigration New Zealand website before you book.

Can you help with my visa?

Yes. I give you a document checklist, a day-by-day itinerary for your application and tips on what to prepare. You submit the application yourself, and Immigration New Zealand makes the final decision.

How long does the visa take?

Immigration New Zealand says it processes most visitor visas within a few weeks. Apply at least 8 weeks before you fly.

What documents do I need?

A passport valid for at least 3 months after you leave New Zealand, recent photos, proof of funds, proof of onward travel and your itinerary. Check the Immigration New Zealand website for the latest list and fees.

What's Included

What does a tour include?

It depends on the package. Most tours include hotels, private land transport, a tour guide, entrance fees to listed activities and some or all meals. International flights to New Zealand are quoted on request. Your quote lists every inclusion.

What is not included?

Unless your quote says otherwise: visa fees, travel insurance, optional activities, personal expenses and tips.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. I strongly recommend it for every trip. I can arrange a travel insurance quote for you.
